WHAT DO YOU DO AT BISSELL BROTHERS?

I pour beer in our new taproom in Milo. I provide a new experience in this area that has been underserved to date, specifically when it comes to craft beer. I engage customers, I get to hear and tell some wonderful stories, and really think I have an opportunity to push a different way of enjoying beer and the way I believe it should be. Outside of work it’s a great way to connect with your neighbors and enjoy beer—and to do that in a way that is good for our community. But above all of it, I get to learn from a lot of amazing people, and that is the most exciting part. Both staff, company, and customers.

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED WITH BISSELL BROTHERS? 

As a fan first. That’s the 100% truth. 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BBB? 

The why. The way in which the mission is carried out—in every step of the process, it’s doing the right thing instead of the easy thing—it shows in the taproom experience, in the taste of the beer—in every facet of the business. 

WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF THE BREWERY? 

I like to think I spend a lot of time in the Bangor beer scene—my exposure to it was through food, seeing all these people help and grow together, and to see a community do it all. I like to go out, get a pint, get to know these amazing people who are doing really cool things—other than that anything my girlfriend asks me to. 

WHAT IS YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSIOn?

A book called Old Gorgon Graham—letters from a merchant to his son. It’s a book I got from my grandfather and it’s a story about business from 100 years ago that is still applicable—because business is just people. I read that book at least twice a year. It helps me set my compass. 

IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE? 

Shape shift for sure. Experience a ton of things a ton of different ways.
